Great Hills Lodge can sleep up to four people,  with space in the master bedroom for a travel cot (supplied on request) .

Please note, Great Hills Lodge has a strict non smoking policy.

All accommodation is on the ground floor apart from bedroom two which means it is accessible for guests with limited mobility.

The Lodge is accessed via a private lane and driveway to the main house.  This affords our guests  privacy and the ability to close the gates to keep children and animals safe within the grounds.   The lane beyond the house entrance leads to woodlands with public footpaths for those countryside walks.

The stable door at the entrance to the property allows guests to have the top section open, keeping dogs and children safe whilst allowing you to enjoy good weather.

Outside space

To the front of the Lodge, for the sole use of our guests  is a raised lawn area with garden furniture and use of a BBQ, ideal for eating al fresco (please note this area is not fenced in).  There is also a rotary clothes drier on the front lawn, perfect for drying your beach towels after a day at the beach.

To the side of the entrance is a stable where you can hang up wetsuits to dry and store surfboards, bikes etc.  Guests are provided with a padlock to secure this area.

Enclosed rear courtyard

To the rear of the Lodge, accessed through the sitting room,  is an enclosed courtyard which is a sun trap.  Here you can enjoy the amazing views over breakfast whilst you plan your day.

Main bedroom

The main bedroom has a king size bed with a memory foam mattress for added comfort.

There is a wardrobe and a chest of drawers for clothes storage.   We provide a hairdryer to avoid you having to pack one.    Bedside lights are provided and given that there is no light pollution where we are, a torch is also provided should you need it! .  We are situated in a very peaceful location, which provides amazing views over the countryside.  You are likely to fall asleep to the sound of the resident local owls calling to one another and wake to the sound of birdsong or possibly a sheep or two, no traffic apart from the occasional tractor as it wends its way down the track to see to the livestock in the fields.

Second bedroom

The second bedroom  is quirky in it’s layout as this was the former hayloft for the stables.  Please note that it has limited head room to the sides.   For added safety when children are staying there are removable  stairgates at the top and bottom of the stairs and a removable window restrictor.     The twin beds in this room also have memory foam mattresses.

Again, like the main bedroom, guests can enjoy the amazing countryside views.

Downstairs shower room

The electric shower is a "step in" one, with safety grab rail and a separate shower seat is also available on request

Sitting room

The sitting  room provides plenty of room for four, as well as  a dining area.  Guests often spend time watching the birds visit the feeders which are located directly outside the window. Some even set up timer cameras to catch the local woodpecker who likes to visit often.

If wildlife is not your thing, you can enjoy the SMART tv, which includes  NETFLIX access so you can find a film to snuggle down with on the sofa and pass the time.    WIFI is provided free of charge for our guests.

A door leads out into the courtyard from the sitting room.  There are two steps down from the property with safety grab rails alongside each one.

The Lodge has a  well equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay including an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer washing machine and dishwasher.
